Our relationship with IEA - an international organization involved in guaranteeing secure oil supply in OCSE Countries - is due to the fact that we are an authoritative source of statistical data and information on renewable source policies.

We maintain a constant dialogue with the Agency’ Renewable Energy Division and we diffuse its main activities in our Country.

GSE’s Statistical Office participates regularly in the works of ESWG – Energy Statistics Working Group, a permanent consultation table on themes related to the production and development of energy statistics.

With reference to bioenergies, GSE is Italy’s contracting party in the Implementing Agreement IEA Bioenergy. Moreover, it participates in the works of Task 40 “Sustainable International Bioenergy Trade - Securing Supply and Demand,” on the theme of international trade in sustainable biomasses.

Also with reference to marine energy, GSE is Italy’s contracting party in another TCP by IEA: the Ocean Energy Systems (OES).

By providing support to institutions, we are the national technical interlocutor for IRENA, an intergovernmental organization involved in supporting Countries in their transition toward a future with low-carbon emissions.

We are the point of reference for the supply of statistical data, for the development and review of studies and analyses, and for the dissemination of Italian best practices with reference to renewable energy.

We constantly follow IRENA’s work with the aim to create value for the Italian enterprises in the sector and we represent our Country in strategic activities for the development of renewables at international level.

GSE is also involved in the Costing Alliance Initiative launched by IRENA, aimed at collecting data and performances of renewable technologies utilized worldwide.
